Design Strategy
The key to this design is that it's counterintuitive. Sometimes you have to go against the grain to get people's attention. The video isn't about 'don't make courses', it's about getting the click because the message is actually 'don't make courses if...', which is an entirely different approach.
We use that curiosity and go against what people expect to be true. We construct the video in a way that says even though you think this is the right way to do it, it's not necessarily the best way.
By leveraging this counterintuitive approach, we create curiosity for people who think they're supposed to make courses, while also appealing to an audience that's skeptical of courses. It's a way to appeal to a wider audience and the right audience at the same time, which gives us opportunities for AB testing in our titles and thumbnails.
